Learn Spanish Phrases

Click here to visit Rocket Spanish! It can be a lot of work to learn Spanish phrases because there are just so many of them that are not found in textbooks.  With hundreds of phrases in the Spanish language, one of the best ways to learn them is to keep a list of all of the new phrases you come across and study it often.  In my experience trying to learn Spanish phrases, I have found that one of the easiest ways to come across new phrases to learn is through conversation with people.

If you don’t have someone who you can speak Spanish with, then you can still pick up a lot of phrases from an audio course in Spanish.  If you are able to listen to conversations that are held in Spanish, then you can still take note of the words and phrases that you are not familiar with to add to your list.  Rocket Spanish has a great audio course with over 14 hours of audio with real conversations that you can study from to learn Spanish phrases.

In a fifteen minute conversation, you can easily encounter ten or more phrases that you don’t know the meaning of.  By asking the person you are talking with to explain the meanings of these, you can learn Spanish phrases much faster than you would by scouring books or internet pages.  The key to retaining what you have learned is using these phrases the next time you are speaking Spanish.  With a few uses, the phrases will begin to come naturally to you in your speech and you will have an easier time remembering them.

You can also help yourself learn Spanish phrases with flash cards.  Once you have a sufficient list of phrases that you want to learn, put the Spanish phrase on one side of the card and the English translation on the other.  You can play games with the flash cards that include just one person or multiple people.  An easy game is to add one point for correct answers and subtract one point for incorrect answers.  With multiple people, you can play a game to ten or fifteen points.  If playing by yourself, you can try to beat your highest score with each time you play the game.

Another way to learn Spanish phrases is to invest in good Spanish online lessons.  There are lots of downloadable programs that offer courses in Spanish, but the best one that I have found is Rocket Spanish.  In addition to a full audio course, it comes with a 550 page manual with comprehensive coverage of Spanish phrases, vocabulary and grammar.  You can get a free six-day course in Spanish to see what Rocket Spanish has to offer.
